L144 – The Foundry Berlin/Germany
The former sign and relief foundry on Linienstrasse 144 ranks amongst the oldest buildings of the “Spandauer Vorstadt” in the heart of Berlin. The logo, which was redesigned when the building underwent full restoration, is based on a casting of a sign showing details of the area’s history in chronological order. The main motif for the building’s sign system consists of a collage of signs and stamps which used to be produced in the foundry. Specially developed pictograms provide visitors with quick and easy orientation and point out important facilities such as the toilets, lift, entrances and exits.
