For the twelfth edition of Art Rotterdam, the stunning departure hall of the Holland America Line in Rotterdam, The Netherlands will again be the set for the international art fair to discover emerging talent.

From 10 to 13 February 2011 and simultaneous with Art Rotterdam, Object Rotterdam will for the fourth time in a row, be the official side fair, held in the Las Palmas building, opposite to Art Rotterdam.

At this international fair for autonomous design, twenty galleries from The Netherlands and abroad, will present unique or limited edition objects in the field of current design, crafts and jewelry. Object Rotterdam exposes the cutting edge between art and design and, as was shown last year by the overwhelming attention from the international media, it is the place
to be, to experience the latest developments in the worlds of design, crafts and jewelry.

Object Rotterdam 2011 is proud to announce that it will host amongst others, the world premiere
of ‘In Collaboration With Wood’, a series of wooden chairs by internationally renowned Dutch
designer Aldo Bakker, presented by Particles Gallery from Amsterdam.

‘In Collaboration With Wood’ by Aldo Bakker

After the great success of his solo exhibition ‘Creatures – studies for existence’ at Villa Noailles in France earlier this year (July 2, 2010 – September 26, 2010) and during the grand exhibition ‘EMMY+GIJS+ALDO’ (October 31, 2010 – May 29, 2011) at the Zuiderzeemuseum in The Netherlands.
Aldo Bakker returns to Object Rotterdam.

For the second year in a row, Particles Gallery will present a new project by Aldo Bakker at Object Rotterdam. Bakker’s designs are well know for their statements in material, form and texture. Bakker gives meaning to form, and returns to the roots of design.

Particles Gallery was founded in Amsterdam in 2009, to promote and produce exclusive functional objects. Despite being one of the youngest galleries to be present at Object Rotterdam, Particles has already firmly established its name in the international design world.
