What is 100% Design?

During three days we welcome all interested professional ‘design’ people to come and see the newest products of the selected exhibitors. The Van Nelle Design factory will again be the location for 100% Design. This old factory is an architectonical highlight, of which the monumental coffee and tobacco factory and surroundings will be decorated for the event.

Visitors at 100% Design can see participants with innovative products, meet new people, get inspired, join lectures, enjoy the greatest food and beverages at one of the lounge terraces (in or outside!), get a new subscription at one of the magazines or get on the free shuttle service (powered by MINI) to one of the Off Site locations in Rotterdam city.

Visitors
Architects, interior architects, designers, facility managers, retailers and other professionals can visit the event on the 26th, 27th and 28th of May 2011. The consumers with an big interest in top interior design are invited to visit 100% Design on Saturday 28th May.

Participants
At 100% Design manufacturers, designers, importers and agents of furniture, sanitary, kitchens, light, sound, textile and floorings show their latest products. Also trade magazines and associations for interior design, architects and designers will be present.
The advisory board, consisting of 5 persons with a ‘design’ profession, will select participants reviewing the products and the renewing grade of it.

100% CONTENT
On the exhibition floor is a seminar room in which we organize interesting lectures and meetings.

BNO hosts a plenary session for members in the seminar room at the exhibition floor on Friday morning May 27th.

On Friday, May 27, the renowned trendforecaster Li Edelkoort gives a masterclass Interior and Lifestyle 2013. This annual forecast in which Li shares her vision for the interior is normally only reserved for members of the Dutch Institute of Interior. Visitors to this years 100% Design will have a chance to meet with the Dutch Institute of Interior, the network and the story of Li Edelkoort, by attending this masterclass! This lecture takes place in the distribution center of the Van Nelle Design Factory.

Later that day the Dutch Institute of Interior presents in the seminar room at the exhibition floor a reading of Global Color Research. This presentation is about trends, but from a completely different angle. Global Color Research is a renowned research institute that produces colors and trends from collaborating industrial partners. Registration is via www.interieurinstituut.nl

Saturday, May 28, you will find in the lecture hall throughout the day a number of interior architects, that will give a short presentation every full and half hour. After the presentation there is the possibility to ask questions and ask for specific advice.

100% OFF-SITE IN THE CITY

During the three days of 100% Design are also locations in the city of Rotterdam involved in the event. MINI again provides a free shuttle service between the Van Nelle Design Factory and a number of locations. A great opportunity for you to see the MINI Countryman up close and inside!

MINI Stop 1: Large crossing at de Meent, Rotterdam
De Meent is a very nice street between Coolsingel and Goudsesingel.
Here you can get off the MINI to visit Rotterdam Depot, which is a design shop, consultancy and design studio in one. Here you will find a wide selection of design classics and contemporary designs, combined with pieces from the own studio. For even more design enjoyment you can also visit the new gallery of Christian Ouwens at Oppert 2.
Did you get hungry? Visit Little V for healthy, fair and affordable Vietnamese food. If you've been here once you will certainly come again!
Finish off with a nice ice cream at the IJssalon. All visitors of 100% Design will get a free ice cream (during 100% Design) by showing their entrance ticket!
Don’t forget to get a traditional sourdough bread or something else delicious to take home from the Vlaamsch Broodhuys.
From the Meent it is only a short distance to Gallery Vivid at the Scheepmakershaven.

MINI Stop 2: Taxi stop in front of Het Westelijk Handelsterrein
Het Scheepvaartkwartier is an attractive area of the Rotterdam with a Maritime atmosphere and historic buildings.
Here you can get off the MINI to visit DOEN advice and interior or the Van Oosterom Concept Store. Also visit the Bulthaup showroom, it was recently transformed into the leading Bulthaup showroom in the Netherlands!

100% IN AND AROUND THE FACTORY

During 100% Design a lot of things are happening in and around the Van Nelle Design Factory. If you go off the premises, directly at your right hand you will find Secoff. Here you find Office & Design, for both architects, businesses, institutions and consumers. During 100% Design is a big garage sale here, so go and find your bargain!
In the permanent showroom of Wilkhahn (1st Floor Tea Factory) is a joint presentation of Wilkhahn and a number of partners.
Do not miss the presentation of Artifort in the Tearoom. Enjoy the stunning views, and then you will see it in the water: Firmship by Studio Job. You are invited for a closer look at this very special boat, that docks especially for 100% Design at the Schie!

100% NEW TALENT

The Campsites are fully booked! In these stands you can see inspiring designs of some 20 aspiring designers or design firms. You can find more fresh design talent at the exhibition floor in the presentation of graduation work of talented students Interior of Willem de Kooning Academy Hogeschool Rotterdam. The work shows the vision of the alumni on the relationship between furniture and interiors.

100% OUTSIDE

On a collection of special objects in the garden you can enjoy something to eat or drink. It is usually very nice here, so keep that in mind and plan a few more hours for your visit!

100% PUBLIC DAY

Professionals are welcome during all 3 days 100% Design. On Saturday, May 28, everybody is welcome to take a look behind the scenes of this exhibition. Here you can already see what the trends are in the future. Unlike other opening days, a lot of exhibitors are selling designer items, mostly special exhibition offers! At the stand of Perlei you can even have a meet & greet with the Dutch design talents, and you can buy autographed design objects. For inspiration and advice follow lectures from the Interior designers in the seminar room at the exhibition floor.

100% DELICIOUS

The inner man is taken care of by O'seven. Besides a large variety of delicious sandwiches, including delicious grilled panini, you can enjoy oysters and champagne. Sit and relax on the impressive, especially made 100% Design seating area, or find a lovely spot (hopefully in the sun!) in the garden.

100% MONUMENT

The Van Nelle factory was built between 1926 and 1930, and is considered the most prominent building from the 'New Building' age. After the departure of the company Van Nelle, this monumental complex was fully redeveloped without losing its allure. The factory and surrounding grounds are normally not open for public, but when visiting 100% Design you can see this architectural masterpiece up close!

100% HIGH

The Tearoom at the ninth floor was once the place where the former board of directors of the Van Nelle welcomed their special guests. During 100% Design, you will find a wonderful presentation of Artifort, and enjoy a spectacular view of Rotterdam and surroundings and also see the Firmship from above!
