TypeGallery is an annual showcase of new typeface design presented by the non-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA). Typefaces are exhibited during TypeCon, August 17-22 in Los Angeles, with the potential of becoming part of an online exhibition.

Topics at TypeCon cover a broad range of interests, including typography, type design, font production, graphic design, new media, printing history, calligraphy and hand lettering, the book arts, advertising, type in motion, literacy, type sales and marketing, legal issues, type and design education, and other related areas.

Deadline

Digital files and mounted artwork must be received by August 5, 2010.

Specifications

Typefaces must have been created, published, or significantly updated between July 2009 and August 2010.
You may submit either a traditional type specimen or a typographic design piece displaying your font in use.
Artwork may be in color and/or black and white.
Maximum artwork size is 11"x17" or A3.
Each submission must be mounted flush on an 11"x17" or A3 piece of white foam core board. You must send two (2) mounted copies of each submission.
Digital files must be provided for each submission. Supply unlocked 300 DPI press-ready PDFs or editable vector EPS files. Files must be Mac-compatible and scaleable. Convert all fonts to paths in illustration/page layout programs and embed all fonts in PDFs. Proof your digital files and prints carefully before submitting.
Limit three (3) typeface submissions from a single designer or foundry.
Submission Fees

There is a fee of $15USD per submission to help cover costs.
Fees are waived for SOTA members, TypeCon2010 attendees, speakers, and sponsors.

Please enclose a copy of your submission form(s) with payment.

How To Submit

Download both the PDF and ASCII Text submission forms.
Fill out the PDF form (use one form per submission) and attach a copy to the back of your mounted artwork.
Fill out the ASCII Text form and send this information with your digital files.
Email digital files to type.gallery@typesociety.org. Attachment file size must not exceed 12MB per individual email. For larger files, please provide a URL for downloading.
Write TypeCon2010/TypeGallery somewhere on your package. Ship mounted submissions (well-packaged to prevent damage) to:
