Focused-On March 2010 Competition
The Focused-on Competition in collaboration with Faces of Design is a regular competition, held once a month. Subject of the competition is the design of a flyer for each new event of the Focused-on series - a monthly get together of the photographic community in Berlin.
Eligibility:
Simple: everyone can take part.
Rules:
There are four simple rules:
1) The flyer must contain the image provided each month by the organisers; however, this can be changed or adjusted in any imaginable way.
2) The design must contain the Focused-on logo, which may be changed into any colour.
3) The design must contain the photographer's name, and can also include the designer's name and email or website adddress (obviously, this is up to you!).
4) The flyer needs to contain the date and location of the event: Focused-on will be held at Stagger Lee, Nollendorfstr.27, 10777 Berlin, Thursday 8th April, 8pm, RSVP to berlin@focused-on.de
Otherwise, there are no rules. Get going and go wild!
Entries:
Entries should be submitted digitally, as a jpeg or pdf; sizewise, we are talking about a Din A3 format (29.7cm x 42 cm). Please send your designs to info@facesofdesign.com
Awards:
There is no financial reward for this competition (yet) - sorry! However, there is also no entrance/submission fee (at least some good news). Most importantly, the winning flyer - maybe yours? - will be emailed out to a growing mailing list of key individuals in Berlin's creative scene, including Art Directors, Creative Directors, Art Buyers, Picture Editors, Graphics people etc. So it's basically great self-promotion; so far, the list is approximately 1.000 people deep, and it is growing by the day.

About Focused-on:
Focused-on is a monthly get together for the photogaphy industry in Berlin, for locals and visitors alike. Focused-on will be held once a month as an opportunity for photographers, their suppliers and their clients, to get together and chat over a glass of wine, or a good beer. Focused-on is a reliable, regular event on which to make new contacts and catch up with old colleagues and clients. Colleagues, friends, partners, international visitors - everyone is welcome.
No rules. No agendas. No portfolios. No pressure.
