Overview:
The goal of EcoTopia is to encourage the development of products that foster a healthy ecosystem and a sustainable society. Submissions should focus on one of the following areas: Transportation, Clothing/Footwear, Farming/Food, Household Appliances, and Shelter. Twenty entries will be chosen to appear in the show and will be included in a press release to be widely distributed by Nectar Design with the goal of being featured in industry and general audience publications.
Submission Guidelines:
Entries can range from initial concept ideas to finished designs. All media will be considered, including 2D presentations, video, prototypes, scale models, and mockups. Entries must be accompanied by a one-page write-up that explains the benefits of the product. Each entry must also include plans, diagrams that illustrate how the product works and demonstrates its feasibility.
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experts and will be judged on the basis of concept quality, feasibility, and impact.
These will be defined as follows:
1) Concept Quality and Originality of Approach
2) Feasibility - No “perpetual motion” concepts, please
3) Environmental Impact - Entries should include studies or explanations that show how the product contributes to overall sustainability and a healthy and diverse ecosystem.

Deadline: November 20, 2009, Notification: December 15, 2009

Include a cover letter, brief resume, a designer’s statement, and artwork detail list (title, medium, dimensions, etc) with up to twenty images.
Eligibility:
Students, professionals and independent inventors are all eligible.
