Textile Design
This display features highlights from the Royal College of Art (RCA) fashion MA graduates' final collections and reveals aspects of the design process. For the past 60 years, the RCA has prepared aspiring designers for fashion careers leading to graduates working in fashion houses such as Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Chloé, Dior and Burberry. Others such as Ossie Clark, Boudicca, Julien Macdonald and, more recently, Erdem Moralioglu and Carolyn Massey have developed their own labels.Author:Lisa Lehmann
First Solo Show for Designer Who Has Taken the Traditional Craft of Knitting Into Whole New Areas of DesignThe Lighthouse, Scotland's National Architecture and Design Centre, continues its commitment to showcasing Scottish talent with the first solo show by rising designer, Donna Wilson. Escape to the Woods, a specially created installation of her recent work, will be on show in the 4th floor Gallery from 23 January - 1 March 2009.
