  • STRUCTURAL PACKAGING SHOW is an international exhibition showing the best structures of packaging, from the technical and graphical point of view. The participation is free and is opened for companies, studios, independent designers, pupils and young creators of packaging from the whole world. The show does not have a competitive character. The best packaging in the show will be included in the book Structural Packaging Gold, which Josep Maria Garrofé is preparing in collaboration with Index Book and that will be published at the end of 2011.

  • For the first time in Puerto Rico, Designers, have the opportunity to exchange their ideas in one place, the Puerto Rico Design eXchange 2010. This is an open design competition for emergent professionals and students in six different categories. The PRDX2010 includes the following categories; Architecture, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design and Photography.

  • There’s been a strong link in design between Switzerland and Italy since Max Huber, Carlo Vivarelli, Walter Ballmer et al crossed the Alps in the 1940s. It’s now the time to bring this collaboration full circle and celebrate the shared past, present and future of Swiss and Italian design. And that’s where you, young Swiss and Italian designers come in. To support the next generation of Swiss and Italian creative talent we’re running a competition for young designers to be exhibited and published alongside 22 of the best designers from both countries.

  • Posterheroes proposes a debate on future’s energetic policies, after the decision took by the Italian government to open a new nuclear season, interrupted by the 1987 referendum. The Italian issue opened a deliberation involving the whole international socio-economic and environmental situation. The contest represents a means of communication for young people, who may express their energetic opinions which may then be adopted for a sustainable future.

  • The Interior Innovation Award is one of the most prestigious awards of the furnishing sector world-wide and was launched in 2002 by imm cologne, which provides the idea behind the competition. The organiser is the German Design Council. Through this competition imm cologne and the German Design Council have succeeded in creating an effective tool for corporate positioning and product differentiation for the interior furnishings market. The Interior Innovation Award appraises top innovations in all product areas of this sector of industry. For the eighth time, furthermore, the Interior Innovation Award will be presented to three young designers who are new recruits to the profession, and whom the jury will select from the talent show D3 Contest 2011.

  • From October 1 – November 12, 2010, all AIA members are invited to submit projects for the Design for Decades initiative. This initiative will feature works of all scales and types that represent the scope and quality of work being done by AIA members. Entries of all types – including small, large, commercial, residential, public, private, interiors, historic preservation, engineering, landscape and urban design projects -- will be accepted.
