The exhibition “There is No Such Thing As a Good Painting About Nothing“ focuses a comparable artistic habitus finding its provenance in graffiti and street culture. It is interesting to observe, that approximately 70 years later, in the early 21st century, three artists located in different countries developed their work independently from each other as a new form of abstract expressionism. They build upon the paradigms of graffiti writing and street art but distance themselves radically from established clichés.

The event will feature leading young design authors talking about their books and will culminate in a discussion about the state of design book publishing today.

At TYPO 2010, some 50 designers and creatives will show us how easy success can be if you trust in your passion.

Main exhibition. How will future designers work, and how does Danish design address global issues such as sustainability, new technology and consumption? The exhibition it’s a small world challenges the Danish design tradition and explores future design practices in a global perspective.

The Brno Biennial was established in 1963, and is thus the oldest exhibition of graphic design in the world. It regularly alternates between two subjects. The 24th year is dedicated to corporate, informational and advertising graphics and posters.

The Finnish Designer Awards concept has been revamped: from this year the awards will be given in mid January. The aim of this change is to enhance the exhibition’s international tour. The Finnish Designer Awards ‘10 publication will be published in January 2010 together with the exhibition in Design Forum Finland.. 

The walk takes place in the vibrant area of the city next to the Acropolis, leading the visitor between cult shops and hip bars to discover works by award-winning graphic designers, in one of the most inspiring neighbourhoods in Europe, where ancient Greece, West, East, yesterday and tomorrow meet. For the 2010 walk, double decker, the London-based curating agency, is challenging 13 Graphic Design Studios to create a piece of work inspired by the contradictions / oppositions with which every designer has to deal, and which arise from fundamental questions in design methodology.

The Swiss Office of Culture (OFC/BAK) and mudac proudly present 17 awardwinning works by the 19 recipients of the Swiss Federal Design Awards for 2009. 239 designers participated in the competition. Chaired by Patrick Reymond, the Federal Design Commission honoured 17 projects/works by 19 creators.

The British Council and the Korean Cultural Centre UK are pleased to announce Supervisions: UK Korean Artists. The exhibition attempts to capture a sense of the diversity of works produced by Korean artists and designers currently living in the UK. It presents work by nineteen individuals selected through an open call.
