The Kunsthaus Zürich is staging a retrospective featuring large-format paintings and woodcuts by Franz Gertsch – one of Switzerland’s leading contemporary artists. The exhibition, entitled ‘Seasons’, brings together in the large exhibition gallery his works from the period between 1983 and 2011, culminating in the recently finished ‘Four Seasons Cycle’. Gertsch rose to international fame in the 1970s with his hyper-realist paintings, yet his outstanding reputation stems equally from his woodcuts, unique both technically and in format.Author:Anna Schwaderer

Edward Cella Art + Architecture is pleased to present TOPO/GRAPHY, an exhibition that investigates the mapping of the relief, stratigraphy and history of land. In this presentation, nine contemporary artists explore the land as muse, becoming explorers, excavators, and surveyors through abstraction, line and process. Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans will be presented for the first time at MOCA in celebration of the original exhibition of the thirty-two paintings at Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles - Andy Warhol's first solo exhibition - and pays tribute to the significant role played by the gallery and its revered director Irving Blum in the development of Los Angeles contemporary art. The International Design Alliance (IDA) is a strategic venture between the international organisations representing industrial design, communication design and interior architecture/design. The alliance was created by its founding partners, the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) and the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda) in 2003. To mark Israel's 63rd Independence Day, Israel Design Week Holon will be held at various locations around the City of Holon from May 5 to May 15, 2011. This initiative is a continuation of and an additional stage in the process led by the City of Holon to promote design in Israel and transform the city into a national design center, a process that began with the inauguration of Design Museum Holon. Parsons The New School for Design presents the Parsons Festival, inaugurating an annual tradition of hosting art and design events that are open to the public.
