[NAILED] [HOOKED]

Utilizing the language of it’s own use, Nailed is an exploration of obsessively affecting a surface by the investment of a large amount of time into a low value material.  Bringing attention to an otherwise overlooked, commercially manufactured, and often unattractive utilitarian object. Composed of repetitive puncture marks through a surface with nails, this work was originally conceived as text for gallery signage.  Hooked explores the same process through imagery and function, referencing a fishing hook and a free floating line.
