Polygon Resort

Mr. Pedro Gomes
University project brief 2009
Polygon is a resort floating unit for max 6 people. The design was inspired by the idea of sheltering. Appealing to the archetype of a tent, the design transfers this archetype to a wood structural shelter.
The roof is covered by flexible canvas which allows a better reflection of heat, cooling down the interior areas.
The interior is designed, just like a tent, as an open space, free to occupy as the user chooses and creating a wide glass front view that access the floating platform.
The flexible canvas allows to collect rainy water on the side for further use in the toilets. To become a self sustainable unit, and an eco friendly micro architecture design, the canvas has embedded solar panels to collect solar energy.
