The idea was to take a bowl with a base and expand on the relationship between the two objects. Taking inspiration from shipbuilding, the bowl is both held and completed by the “ribs” of the base. The cast porcelain bowl fits flush with the wooden base, but allows the inner structure to be seen and understood.
