True this work I ask if the Islamique veil wouldn’t be a male problem ? Isn’t it a n easy solution against the man sexual pulsions, worn by women’s bodies?
The veil is defined in relation to men, their desires, their impulses. Women have to hide any attract thing, which could reflect sexual thoughts.
I consider the veil as a symbol of submission. As a confinement of women. Dependents on the authority, power, and men sexuality. That’s why I worked on relations betwenn men and women, masculinity and feminity, male and female...
When you look a buttonhole, you can see both the vulva in the height and the look of a woman veiled in the length. Multiplied, it becomes laces, like a moucharabieh. Which makes the sepation between the inside and the outside. To see without being seen. To protect themselves from unwelcome eyes.
The button is a detail. An intimate apparel.
It represents the symbole meeting between male and female. And finally buttons are making a flat volume becoming a body with feminity evocative curves. Like women who swim with their veil, sexiest than with a swimming suit, molded in draped, as a greek goddess.

A world of contradictions and symboles :
