Rain Drum Umbrella by Dong Min Park

At least here in Germany where summer still seems a long time away and rain keeps pouring down, this concept seems like a good idea!
The Rain Drum: An innovative umbrella by Dong Min Park

Rain Drum is an innovative umbrella that features mounted sound outputs on the exterior of an umbrella top which make different drum noises when raindrops fall upon it. The shade of the umbrella is made up of five wax-cloth elements that vary in elasticity. Depending on the size and speed of the falling rain drop, the umbrella produces different drum-like sounds. The five parts of the umbrella are called: hi-hat, crash, tom-tom, bass and snare - just like the components of an actual drum.
